PFD Monitor interpretation

Failure to complete the process for implementing the proposed changes without undue delay

Wider context from the report

“Although Chris’s death occurred in February 2022, it also became clear that the process had not been completed. It was hoped this could be achieved by the end of July this year but the inquest was told there would need to be consideration of the proposals by the different consultants now involved. I was concerned to ensure that the process was completed without undue delay and it is with this in mind that I now write to you. ”

Is this part of a recurring concern?

Existing Give Way signage is considered sufficient because visibility far exceeds the distance at which a Stop sign would be considered.

Verbatim wording from the response

“In conclusion, as outlined above the visibility at the junction to the South-East is approximately 220m. The visibility to the North-West is approximately 200m. As such, the visibility at this junction far exceeds that required to consider a STOP sign (and would do so for any 85th percentile speed) and so on consideration, we are not proposing to change the existing GIVE WAY signage at this time.”
